Of all the movies that I thought would get certified fresh ratings this year, I can safely say I did not think this would be one of them. I haven’t seen it, but I guess the trailers don’t do it justice because they did not make it look good lol
Elle Fanning is incredible in everything she’s been in, so that may be a factor
I’m so pumped for this. Predator has gotten leagues better since Dan Tractenberg got ahold of it. Prey and Predator: Killer of Killers are the best in the series. Prey earns it a little unfairly because it’s such a love letter to the first one but it just works so well. I’m going to a fan screening tomorrow
makes me wish they’d take another shot at a good version of Alien vs Predator that’s more in line with the videogames and comics. doesn’t have to take place on Earth. just make it make sense.
I’d have hope for that. Between Alien: Earth digging in on the corporations/synthetics, Badlands fully going in on Weyland:Yutani, and that Tractenberg said Killer of Killers/Badlands are building up to a crazier third thing, we might have a chance
As long as it is made with practical effects. The problem with comics is that the sky (or the artist’s ability) is the limit, and games also give a lot of leeway in effects. I just hope that doesn’t twist their arm into doing it all in CG…
Maybe an anime would also be very welcome based on the recent thread of great adaptations.
I wasn’t welmed with Terminator though…
Really?!? I looked at the promo and I was tired of predator for a bit, and I thought it was a checkbox movie anyway - while hating myself for thinking so, natch - but I maybe wanna give it a chance.
Thanks for the nudge.
Badlands isn’t as good as I wanted. Here’s my thoughts:
Prey and Killer of Killers are streaming on Hulu and are 100% worth watching if you like Predator. I’ll post my thoughts after I see it tomorrow
I seriously enjoyed Prey, easily in my list of top movies from the past decade.
I’m cautiously interested. Predator has always been a favorite series of mine. Worried about the pov though and that they’re trying to “humanize” the hunters.
Like the xenomorphs, yautja are better when you know little about them— just their end goal for the moment.
Proves that can’t trust this, because this movie looks terrible especially after I saw the trailer.
Enjoyment of movies is very personal so you can only really trust people who you know have similar tastes to you.
I’m pretty easy to please so Rotten Tomatoes is usually a good indicator whether I’ll like something or not provided it’s in a genre that I like.
