When I read the full transcript of the interview, I realized there had been no pushback, no corrections, no challenging follow-ups. The entire interview had been an open-ended opportunity for Trump to tell rambling lies, only to have them cleaned up into a more polished product.

I get where the author is coming from here – I watched this interview last night. I was screaming at the TV a few times myself, however it’s not accurate to say all the questions were easy, there was no pushback or followups. These things were all there, albeit somewhat weak. The most egregious part to me is that she didn’t correct him when he claimed he “beat his bogus charges”. She absolutely should have pointed out that he is a convicted felon. Such an embarrassing chapter of world history we’re living through.

America doesn’t need weak, ineffectual pushback. It needs real journalists. You are defending oligarch-owned corporations who have directly enabled the rise of fascism and current coup.

I mean, they did cut a clip that looked bad for trump without explanation. It’s only visible in the transcripts.
