For decades, Canadian governments, both Liberal and Conservative (under Brian Mulroney), wisely declined to participate in earlier versions of the Golden Dome under former U.S. presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. Canada’s refusal was largely on the grounds that these so-called “missile defence” systems are not just defensive. In fact, they undermine arms treaties and encourage arms races.

Some more domestic arms production wouldn’t be a bad idea
Agreed. Although I’d really put money into nuclear deterrent and ballistic missiles if I had a say in it. Otherwise we’re very vulnerable to the future whims of the declining power down south. I think their expansionist ideas could grow with the reality of climate change setting in the decades to come.
Drones too, fast drones, cheap effective.
Motor, frame, and prop production can all be spun up overnight. The money part of drones is the flight controller and radio gear, all of that comes from china and would take several years for Canada to start production.
Atm I’m buying Chinese imports but not American, so shrug
It would be nice to stand up a Gripen factory
