      My first thought was, “Who would tell ghost stories at Christmas?”

      Then it occured to me that A Christmas Carol is probably one of the most well known ghost stories of all time. So I guess the answer to that question is Charles Dickens.

        In the past, there was no Halloween holiday. Christmas (and winter, in general) was when the ghosts came out.
