- Sue the shit out of that dumbass Sheriff. - Threatening to imprison someone, and destroy their life, because of their political speech is terrorism; in a sane world the sheriff would be charged with terrorism… Same with all of ICE and the Trump regime. - He was imprisoned for a month. Who can rationally make 2M in bail?
- We don’t live in a sane world so best we can hope for is a big fat lawsuit that targets the sheriff personally. Unfortunately it would probably target the county instead and just end up screwing the taxpayers. - Annnnnd, now I’m depressed.

- Wonder if this would have happened if he wasn’t a retired cop
- As a reminder these are some of the memes he posted. The last one is what brought the charges against him. - T-T-There’s f-f-fictional M-Mafia in the f-f-first one!!!

 - Eat shit, fascists! - Public shaming and directed outrage work. One tactic of many needed to resist in this hellscape. - Whilst it’s wonderful he’s out, he spent a month in jail.
I ain’t celebrating.- According to NewsChannel 5, Bushart lost his job doing medical transport because he was unable to post a $2 million bond to get out of jail. - Corrupt sheriff, corrupt judge, corrupt DA, and apparently incompetent defense attorney. - I sometimes watch good judges on YouTube. I’m not completely familiar with the procedure, but I can’t imagine a good judge who wouldn’t throw this case out at the first possible opportunity. It’s simply not possible for a good judge to set $2 million bail for somebody who reposts something from the president. - Literally, even if he had intended it to be a threat, and he obviously didn’t, there is no decent judge who would have let this case go this long if that was the only evidence.
- I’ll chip in for him to hire a litigator. - Aye.
 Add me also.

- So the infuriating part here is the complaint that got him arrested is so vague that the arresting deputies/officers are uncertain if a crime was committed. Wow. That is alone tells you someone didn’t understand the irony of Trump’s own words being used as a comment about an incident that technically was also a school shooting. - It should be obvious that no one is in the right arresting you if they can’t explain why they are being told to do it.
- “You can beat the rap, but you can’t beat the ride” - Or in this case, you can beat the rap, but you can’t beat the ride, the three months in jail, plus bail, and also losing your job.
- I hate frivolous lawsuits. Thankfully, this guy’s lawsuit won’t be frivolous.
