We read Graham Platner’s whole Reddit archive. The vilification of the Maine candidate for Senate doesn’t square with what he actually wrote in his posts.
They don’t. Reddit still has a copy of everything you have ever typed on that website (even moreso now that they auto-save every draft message). They need to for liability reasons in case you were doing a Trevor Moore impression and talked about where you would put a mortar. It just has the added benefit of still providing training data for LLMs.
I can’t be sure what jacobin magazine was using, but CNN et al have already linked to actual archive.org scrapes of reddit that include his messages. I am not personally sure how “p-hustle” was linked to him and whether he disclosed that or others figured it out.
They don’t need it for liability reasons; they just want to sell it as AI fodder.
