    You could prove bacon causes people to immediately shit out their organs and die, and people would still want it. Humans are emotional creatures and many are bizarrely emotionally invested in meat.

      They are now urging the government to ban nitrates

      Looks like it’s less about bacon and more about what’s added to it.

      Naturally salted, uncured, celery powdered, smoked, natural curing, nitrate-free… There’s a huge list of safer bacon.

        FYI celery powder has lots of nitrate naturally and bacteria turns them into nitrite. So it’s just a way of getting around FDA labeling regulations.

        The net effect is the same.

      Maybe make meat that is both tasty and also doesn’t kill thousands of motherfuckers in agony so the producers can make their lives easier and more profitable?

      Not just people. This is brits yeah. They way I understand it they are second only to the us in love of bacon.

      Reading past that sensational headline, it seems they just want to put warnings on the packaging. Which would be great, because then people can choose the bacon which doesn’t contain carcinogens.
