And private donations can easily be used for influence which is why I thought that was strictly illegal.

We have to presume and act as if laws have effect. But it can’t stop at just declaring “He can’t do that!” It must extend to electing people that will hold him to it.
Cool, now the US military is LITERALLY, in every possible sense of the word, a privately funded militia at the beck and call of a fascist dictator.
You know… if we taxes the 0.1% that could have been paid by the government, and much more.

The problem is we’ve all voted in leeches for the last 30 years that have done everything they could to make sure the 0.1% don’t have to pay as much in taxes as we do.
