You mean the 1919 tattoo that is part of the trail group tattoo and references the established date of the group that he is a member of? That tattoo? I swear to G-d, everybody is ready to label this guy as a nazi and leave it there and have no nuance, or decency. Where’s the compassion? Where’s the critical thinking? Do we not think it’s strange his campaign manager, who worked for the state with Mills, suddenly dipped the fuck out as soon as the reddit posts hit, right after Mills announced her run? The man got the damn tattoo covered already. I don’t see Pete Hegseth, actual nazi, getting his iron cross covered up anytime soon. Why can’t y’all see this is the establishment attacking this man, who has a problematic past, who has worked hard to change. But yeah, let’s let Mills get in there and continue the same bullshit we’ve dealt with for the past forty years.

Don’t get me wrong, I want progressive canidates.

It’s so fucking difficult to beleive a white man gets a white supremacist tattoo while in the white supremacist armed forces, then enters the most famously evil mercenary org on the planet, somehow does not hold Nazi beleifs.

I’m not capable of that much suspension of disbelief. It’s cartoonishly incriminating

Doesn’t matter tho cuz I can’t vote on that race.

        Hopefully he isn’t a Nazi

I am a white man and I used to have very different views than I have today. Should I even bother?

If there are pictures of you supporting Nazism that people will find, then no, you shouldn’t run for office.

Sure, the purity tests have worked so well for us. Good, solid, and battle tested plan that has nothing to do with us being in this mess.

                  I don’t think I am, not a single bit.

If anything I’m asking if we have the discernment and wherewithal to make a distinction between a nazi and a (maybe) former nazi and I’m in a little distress that the answers appears to be a firm “nope”, which means in your mind, the battle lines have already been drawn and there is no point trying to change people’s minds.

And aside from how fundamentally dangerous that is, we just don’t have the numbers. There just aren’t enough leaders or even normal people that will meet your purity test. 3 years ago, I likely wouldn’t have.

Or, you know, don’t leave room in the tent for the slower-to-evolve.
