The number of Canadian residents returning from trips to the United States declined again in August, dropping to 2.9 million trips or a 29.7 per cent decrease from a year ago, according to the latest monthly travel data from Statistics Canada.

While the number of trips to Canada by U.S. residents was also down in August, decreasing 1.4 per cent from 2024 to 3.2 million trips, there were more U.S. residents travelling north of the border than Canadian residents travelling south.

      I can’t help but chuckle.

previously, ‘stay out of our country’ would be considered rude and potentially racist depending on ya know… things that shouldnt matter.

but now it’s more about ensuring safety of others.

      it’s so weird and surreal

No. It is because their govt decided to threaten our sovereignty and talk down about our culture. Also - since I have cut off all of my business in the US, I have more money than I used to, not less. I am working more contracts for EU and Canuck clients, and while they pay a bit less, I also don’t have to schmooze with the landed gentry just to keep up appearances.

It’s actually mainly because the US is a shithole that we don’t want to visit

No, I’d rather just not get sent to an El Salvadorian concentration camp nor do I want to support a country threatening to annex us

Exchange rates today are $1.39. One year ago they were at $1.38. The rates in the summer of 2025 and the summer of 2024 were pretty similar floating between $1.35 - $1.38.

The exchange isn’t stopping Canadians, it’s the fascism.

Can’t tell if you’re a troll or too dumb to realize that’s basically a population map. Trump won by 1.4%.

EDIT: New account, troll, block. This one will never have anything to contribute.

You are trying to put the cart infront of the horse on that one. The Canadin public are the ones that started the boycot and Carney reacted.

Maybe if your fat, orange god wasn’t such a cunt, things would be different.

Expect your economy to continue the nose dive.

Do you have a Canadian flag on your over-sized pickup truck by any chance?
