The first creature to crawl up out of the water should’ve just stayed there instead and spared us all the evolutionary conga line to this fucked state of events.

I’m gonna guess… the target is the first guy to crawl out of the water and they’re taking 'em out because it was a mistake to leave the ocean? Of course someone else would’ve come along to evolve towards crab anyway.

The creature is a Labyrinthodont, an ancestor of the modern amphibians (and therefore us humans) and one of the first vertebra leaving water.

Don’t think it just started there, this shit goes back millenia from crusades to the State of Medina to the dawn of Christianity to Romans, even as far back as ancient Egypt and the cradle of civilisation, all the hottest drama goes down in the Middle East

The UK and France only ruled some of the areas briefly, after the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1918.

The Ottoman Empire had colonized the region for centuries before.

Yeah, but the UK and France were the ones drawing the post-Ottoman borders, and they did so with… callous disregard for the consequences of said borders.

They drew the borders in accordance with negotiations with their Arab allies, who had fought against the ottomans with them. They also tried to protect minorities and preempt wars.

For example Lebanon was created as a state separate from Syria to provide a safe space for Maronite Christians. The Maronites wanted Lebanon to have more territory including the Bekaa valley inhabited by Shia Muslims because it had good farmland for food security. Syria was not happy about this and has been trying to control, occupy, and annex Lebanon ever since.

A Kurdish state was planned as well but never materialized because of local tensions.

You are misrepresenting history and the locals to further your „west = bad“ ideology.

Bruh, the post-war betrayal of the Pan-Arab rebels is a major theme running through local resentment in the period.

The idea that Syria has been trying to ‘control, occupy, and annex’ Lebanon over a Shia majority area in contrast with the interests of Maronite Christians is… not in-line with reality.

Syria didn’t meddle in internal Lebanese politics and occupy parts of Lebanon?

I’m sorry, are you only capable of reading the first third of a sentence?

Yea, before the British and the French showed up, the Middle East was a bastion of peace and friendship and definitely didn’t have a streak of brutal, bloody conflicts between the tribes. /s
