Hello mayors! We’re back with another look at what is happening in the Colossal Order offices. In this dev diary, we’ll share an update on Bridges & Ports, what is happening with bicycles, and what bug fixes the team is currently tackling.

Before we dive in, just a quick note: this dev diary isn’t tied to a specific patch or release. It’s simply a peek at some of the things we’re working on right now. Think of it as a progress update rather than a complete overview of upcoming content. Alright, let’s get to it.

I’ll be fair and say that CS1 started off the same way and it wasn’t until years later that we got more pedestrian friendly add-ons, but I also get that after years of having it it should have been expected.

also just in real life, bikes and pedestrians were an afterthought

That’s where I give it the same grace I give any paradox game. I bought Victoria 3, Crusader Kings 2/3, and EU3/4/5 on day one knowing they’re essentially alpha versions of the game I’ll get a decade later. CS1/2 were both day one purchases that I haven’t regretted.

I think that’s the healthy way to play it. It’s a very vanilla game now with the promise that it can get better. On top of that, I think they designed the performance with that in mind too, that it may not play the best now but they designed it for hardware 8 years from now when they have the mods and everything on top of it.
