    How is this an ad? They are informing you that you can get more out of your subscription. Would it be better that they’re didn’t inform you about this and hid it away in some obscure menu somewhere?

    There are lots of reasons to not like Google/YouTube, but I can’t see how this is one of them.

    Edit: There is also a clearly visible dismiss button.

      Maybe it’s a vendor specific thing, but my official YouTube app does not support that colour scheme. Dark mode is just gray ish

          Manufacturers like Samsung and Motorola have their own version of the app in the play store, without disclosing it. Unless you have a custom phone or got lucky you might not be stock

            Pixel 7 Pro. I think that counts as stock YouTube as you can get (same vendor for device and application).

                I’m on a Pixel 7 Pro running Android 14, YouTube build 18.45.41 The only YouTube options for the theme are light, dark, and device.

                Hopefully that helps you narrow it down.

                    No problem. Btw it’s been like that for a long time so it may not be down to the device. It could be something that is only activated if you have an OLED display? I also think ReVanced can force the black theme AFAIK
