I suspect that he is using YouTube ReVanced, which allows you to patch the YT app. One of the patches is replacing the branding with “Premium”. But you occasionally still get YT Premium ads - 0 normal ads, tho.

Edit: ReVanced isn’t available on IOS, I use Android but the guy who posted this is clearly using IOS.
If you don’t want to bother with the whole patching process you can also try Grayjay, it’s in early beta but it works flawlessly on my phone. Haven’t tried casting yet but it’s supposed to work, as opposed to Revanced.

Good point, I don’t really use iOS, so it didn’t cross my mind.
Revanced usually hides the big central ‘+’ upload button by default. Unless OP explicitly re-enabled it, they are using the standard app.
You are correct, no big + in my app.
