I thought it wasn’t fake, just a typical “oops sorry the auto-system tagged it, but we re-enabled it now”. Either way, hard to pin it on Proton at this point.
Yeah this incident was really blown out of proportion. They received an alert, disabled the account to review, then reenabled it when the alert was not applicable.
People can legitimately dunk on proton for a number of things but they did what they were supposed to in this case.
I suspect 99% of people still yelling about this don’t even know what actually happened and they are commenting based on an inaccurate/inflammatory headline.
So supposedly the account wasn’t suspended or the reasons we thought, but, they aren’t denying it got suspended and they won’t say why. They do seem to be quite vauge. Thank you for the link
