There was a failed assissination attempt by bombing first, then the archduke kept the event going for an odd reason, then the driver took a wrong turn right to a separate killer. Whereas this past shooting was a hit and run where we have no idea at the moment who’s behind it. Though if it leads to a world war then perhaps we can draw parallels as a pivotal event.
The Reichstag fire is a lot more apt here, where there are few details on whether the person or group framed were the sole actors behind the incident, but it is being used to seize power and oppress the dissenting faction. Any significant event can and is being used as a pretext to militarize the Trump government against its own people.
