RIP Andre Braugher
When people say history is not worth studying, it means it’s an inconvenient narrative or the propaganda worked (still not worth talking to)
Good cop.
“Brooklyn 99 features a precinct filled with good cops. This is to remind the viewer that it is fiction.”
The Star Trek of police procedurals.
Man, you just made me sad because I realized we’ll never see an Andre Braugher Vulcan.
Now that you mention it, I can see that most 99 characters can be traced to Star Trek characters.
So I’ve been told. It’s on my watchlist.
If you enjoy sitcoms put to the top, on my 3-4th watch through of it, he plays one of the characters that make it so due to his great performance. The best gay character as the ‘straight man’ for comedy I’ve seen, which I assume was a joke in itself. Though probably haven’t seen them all.
History isn’t worth studying. You need it to understand memes and argue about it with a beer.
This may be shocking, but history has great relevance to ongoing events
That’s not true. It’s used by politicians to draw the analogies between the current state of events and the past:
-
Trump is a fascist, so don’t vote him
-
Communism killed millions, so it’s unrealistic
-
The ruling class deserves to rule because insert country origin myth here.
History is related to the current events insofar you want to play politics game and make others believe what you either believe or find profitable
Lord.
Remember, their vote means just as much as yours.
The blood of Jesus
If you actually knew any history you would know what you’re saying isn’t true. For example Alfred Hugenberg. Not going to bother telling you about him because you clearly don’t care for what you can learn about how things will go in the modern day based on how things happened almost exactly the same a hundred years ago.
You are propaganda
bwahahahaha!
