The funny thing is that I was looking into assembly compilers on wikipedia, which led to external reading about rmac, which then led to MiNT, which finally led to the Atari Falcon

Does there have to be a lawsuit? The PS2 clearly looks like a direct evolution of the Atari design.
I’m mostly just being snarky. Companies rarely miss an opportunity for a lawsuit.
My guess is that there was nobody at Atari that even knew about either product.
Or Atari had crashed so hard by 1999-2000 that they couldn’t even pay for a telephone call to a lawyer
Man I loved the fat PS2. The fact you could spin the PlayStation logo on the drive door so it was always the right way up is peak attention to detail. Nowadays they’d screen print that shit and call it a day.
i think all ps2 and ps3 models had that feature too. the ps4 just… doesn’t have the logo.

Heh I was one of the 12 people who actually brought a Falcon. Sadly I don’t think I ever made the most of it. It took me years to get documentation on how to load code onto the DSP and by that point I got my first PC.
