I’m as neurotypical as they come and I’m this way. I’d much rather be given orders, really flourished in lower ranks in the military. When I given leadership I do well enough, but the stress is so much higher. It’s just more responsibility, and less responsibility is always best responsibility.
So yeah, could be an autism thing. Could just be a thing.

It’s becoming apparent that my avoidance and denial of being autistic may have caused some problems.

I got diagnosed when I was 15 and spent years saying, “Obviously I’m not autistic,” instead of learning how to live life autistically.
Surprise, surprise, here we are as an adult now still dealing with autism symptoms and trying to learn to cope while working full-time.
