I watched “The Woman King” recently and it is kind of crazy. The tribes were basically selling their own people or captured people of other tribes for profit. Looking at the genocide that was and still is happening in Africa.
Did those people that were sold actually help their future ancestors?
Well, in the case of the movie they wouldn’t be selling them if there weren’t European slave traders to begin with. So that kind of debunks your premise.
I get that people don’t want to be apologetic for what happened, but trying to portray it as positive takes a special kind of ignorance.
