    It is an artifact, the “Forgeringer”.

    Some artifacts might be powerful enough to have function inside anti-magic fields… although the Forgeringer has never displayed that kind of power. More problematic though, it’d be kind of difficult to use a hammer in the middle of a poker match undetected.

      I remembered there being an exception for artifacts in the antimagic field description, but it turns out it’s confusingly worded.

      This section excludes artifacts:

      Spells and other magical effects, except those created by an artifact or a deity, are suppressed in the sphere and can’t protrude into it.

      But this one doesn’t:

      Magic Items: The properties and powers of magic items are suppressed in the sphere.

      I don’t know what you mean. Winning poker via the use of a hammer is a long honored dwarves tradition.
