Tomorrow (Aug 16), Palestine Youth Movement Toronto is holding a rally at Yonge and Dundas, 3PM, to call for an Arms Embargo against Israel.

On July 29, they released 50 page report in collaboration with World Beyond War which details how Canada has continued to supply Israel’s military with munitions and equipment, despite a claimed suspension of exports.

The report reveals that military exports to Israel have continued into 2025, often through loopholes like pre-approved permits (which appear to have been expedited before the suspension came into effect), and shipments that are routed through the US and other countries. For example, as recently as April 2025, 175,000 military-grade bullets worth $369,000 were exported to Israel.

Canadian companies also supply critical military components that are used in surveillance systems, operations, drones, and F-35 fighter jets. Each F-35 contains $2 Million worth of Canadian components. Most of the exports are purchased by Elbit Systems, a multi-billion dollar company that provides 80% of the Israeli military’s equipment.

The report names at least 19 companies, based in cities across Canada, that have been tied to the exports researched for the report, as well as several other Canadian companies that are known to arm Israel.

They conclude with a call for a complete, two-way, arms embargo that closes any loopholes, an end to existing contracts and agreements, and that Canada adhere to International Humanitarian Law to stop occupation, apartheid and genocide in Gaza and the West Bank.
