#PhotoOfTheDay is the Mossdale vertical lift railroad bridge over the San Joaquin River in Lathrop, CA. Built in 1942 as a replacement for the original 1869 bridge which was the final link in the Transcontinental Railroad.

    @[email protected] currently working on building the set for the UK touring version of To Kill a Mockingbird. Taking the US design and making it work for UK theatres. I think this pic is from the London West End run, but you can get the idea from it.

    A photo of a production of to kill a mockingbird. The back and sides of the stage are reminiscent of a dilapidated factory or warehouse of I beam frame and plate glass design.

      @[email protected] Ah, that’s very cool and sounds like a fun set building gig. Have they given you various height specs to work towards?

      This also reminds me that I need to go find a copy of The Backstage Handbook. I’ve been meaning to get a copy for I think a couple of years now. :)

        @[email protected] I’m annoyed the only one I could find had to be shipped from the US, then found out there’s a big UK theatrical supplier that stocks them but their online presence is utter rubbish.
