Politicians make themselves relevant when they act to represent their constituents. Constituents give feedback to their representatives by 1. voting in elections, and 2. contacting their representatives to express their needs and preferences. The recent election, and the doubling down by the Ohio GOP is the exact opposite of making themselves relevant. Ohioans overwhelmingly supported Issue 1. Democrats have similarly taken over the Virginia house and senate, which will limit the Virginia Gov Youngkin’s ability to accomplish his agenda. He could change his agenda to better fit what voting Virginians actively demonstrated they preferred, thus making himself relevant to his constituents. So let me ask you a question, do you think the GOP will change course? Or will they move further out of the center and into the right-wing extremity they have adopted?
