Hell, in this case they’re simply misinformed, nothing contradictory here. I’m sure they simply didn’t believe OP, no problem.

Probably not, because that’s not how cognitive dissonance works.
Cognitive dissonance isn’t caused by holding contradictory views. It’s when holding those views causes mental anguish. Hell, in this case they’re simply misinformed, nothing contradictory here. I’m sure they simply didn’t believe OP, no problem.
