Does any of that happen today though? And yes the Catholics have done some horrible things in the past like the crusades and the inquisition. I am not saying that didn’t happen. But I am talking about the present day.
Is there an updated version of Poe’s law where instead of being unable to distinguish conservative posters from trolls, it’s being unable to distinguish between AI bots and uninformed-yet-strongly opinionated trolls? You are calling me ignorant when you yourself are ignorant about Catholicism. Priests must never disclose any confession people make to them. If you were better informed you wouldn’t make such comment. Just show how ignorant people are here about religion. Confessions are to be kept private and can never be disclosed to anyone. Even if a murderer confess killing someone, the priest must keep quiet. Because telling to others about what they heard in confession could get them excommunicated. They are meant to be private, not for the world to see and then the priest ask God to forgive the people for their sins. It’s not the priest’s duty to abandon their faith because some rapist confessed their sins. Though priest do recommend those people to go to the police.
