In my opinion, the only plastic suitable for warm food is polypropylene and below 103°C. Polyethylene and polystyrene are yucky for food contact, and rubbers (including chewing gum) are horrible for food contact. Silicone I’m not sure about since I haven’t properly studied it, but it seems like the fourth non miscible fluid (of ionic like water, greasy like oil, metallic like solder, and silicones), but if there’s a plastic food product and it doesn’t claim to be PP or silicone I will try not to use it. I like to get my food very very hot and crispy so polypropylene isn’t suitable for me.
