    Trump is doing this because he feels threatened by brics+, but he decided to use the upcoming arrest of far right politicians as a justification. That has however put a lot of strain on the right as they are seen as responsible for harming brazilian economy in an attempt to save themselves from accountability, uniting the left in the process.

    Nothing like alineating the pro-US opposition in Brazil by imposing tariffs on their businesses.

    i was skeptical about him because of his lackluster response to the national bourgeois, but he seized the opportunity to do the based thing.

    props to lula, i’m glad my pessimism got proven wrong. this is the type of thing we voted him in for and i hope he does more of it.

      He should be. A lot of US corporations import Brazilian beef, soy and timber, and Brazil imports a lot of machinery and petrochemical products.

      Brazil is the biggest economy in the region and has historically been a major fence sitter regarding the US. Antagonizing them is a really dumb decision.

      He definitely doesn’t care, but oh boy big Ag is not going to like losing the Brazilian market.
