Honestly the loudest people on the left are a big reason the country went so hard right.

No. The reason Trump won was because the DNC pivoted harder to the right, further alienating its voterbase. The left had nothing to do with why the DNC ran a harder right campaign. The country isn’t as far-right as you’d think, but the two-party system is increasingly suffocating and alienating.

Yes keep this message going. Nothing wins votes like telling people who disagree with you that they’re Nazis. It’s like Oprah - you’re a Nazi, she’s a Nazi, everyone is a Nazi!!!

nah, i don’t buy it. you don’t vote for a fascist because someone else wants trans rights unless you yourself are opposed to trans rights (for example). i think the country went hard right because the people who were always marginalized were getting ‘uppity’ by demanding fair treatment, and this upset those who feel like extending rights to marginalized people somehow infringes on their ‘right’ to engage in discriminatory behaviour.

i think when a black person was elected president, a whole bunch of bigots were like, “this civil rights thing is going too far”

There are much louder and much much more disgusting voices from the extreme right and America went with them.
