Lemmy is more liberal than left, that’s my problem with it. You will get hate for saying very reasonable opinions just because it goes against certain narratives. Better yet, just spit straight facts and you will still get hate, like this: economic class matters more than race for nearly all aspects of life, and a considerable number of primarily-racial factors would also be solved by eliminating poverty and reducing overall inequality.
Reddit is populated by Bill Maher flavored liberals, 4chan is populated by Asmondgold flavored cockroaches, Tildes is populated by approximately seven users (but they’re all pretty cool), and Lemmy users are smart with tech and stupid with everything else
I disagree, on one hand people are really easily offended and on the other you have blatant open pedophilia among the anime communities and people calling for physical violence. It might be “just right” if you agree with the majority of people here. If your views are more moderate and nuanced, not so much. Context and intent does not seem to matter here.
Addendum: This isn’t even anyones fault specifically, but of human psychology. Read about tribalism and social sorting, it is depressing as fuck. If you disagree with somebody your brain automatically puts them in the “enemy team” and attributes everything you consider evil or negative with them, whether you like it or not.
Well, physical violence against fascists is always justified. First they will come for the radicals, then they will come for the moderates, then they will come for the rest, and there’ll be nobody left.
The only good fascist is a dead one. That is my view.
Taal is Dutch for ‘language’, just saying. The name was picked to mock people who police language and expression, like those that prohibit discussing LGBT issues and being in favour of them.
Yes, yes. You’re a South Park loving nihilist who believes in nothing and thinks everyone else must share your complete lack of morals and empathy. Both sides are same, and you have a lot of problematic opinions about trans people. Your kind is easy to spot a mile away.
Well, it’s a mixed bag. There are those who want to house the homeless, and there are those who want to house the homeless in tents made of landlord skins.
The problem is that 4chan is too degenerate and reddit is too, well… reddit. Unfortunately Lemmy is far from perfect as well.

Now watch the comments roll in.
Yup, I mean read the other replies justifying murder under this comment and being upvoted. It’s fucking insane.
dumb comment tilting at windmills, the amount of people posting opinions like the ones you’re thinking about are dwarfed by everyone else

Hey, some of us are stupid with tech too! 😤
Finally, I feel seen.
Well, that’s me fucked, where too now ?
This is so accurate I thought it worth acknowledging and repeating.
I think you replied to the wrong guy, but thanks anyways.
I did indeed but I’m glad you saw it because you put exactly how I’ve felt about Lemmy into words.
I’d like a George Carlin / Bill Burr with some Carl Sagan as balance flavored community, please.
Huh I never thought of Burr as a modern Carlin but actually that checks out.
Lemmy is just the right amount of degenerate.

The irony is that

Making you no better than them. Thanks for proving my point, though.
Found the fascist.
The person with Taalnazi as their username?
Taal is Dutch for ‘language’, just saying. The name was picked to mock people who police language and expression, like those that prohibit discussing LGBT issues and being in favour of them.
You must think the Nazis were socialists.
I hope you realize they were literally national socialists (Nationalsozialisten).
No just a joke from the fact that found the fascist in a comment thread with a person with a name saying they are a grammar Nazi.
Also I don’t think your response makes sense. Like it doesn’t feel like a response to what I said but just a canned one cause I don’t get how it fits.
I get it, you are morally superior to us all.

Please, I can only get so wet!
Hey, they’d finally be useful for something!
