Edit: I see the stars on my own comments, but I still see the time too. Edit 2: I see the stars on other recent comments too. Looks like maybe comments within the last 10 minutes? Not sure.

Yeah, the stars indicate recent comments.
I think your username might not be long enough to cause this issue.
