I read a lot about ADHD people reading random shit on Wikipedia or wherever. Do you retain the information you ingest and all become walking encyclopedias yourselves?
My nickname among my friends is derived from the word wikipedia, because I often have read something related to the conversational topic.
Doesn’t mean I remember everything, or anything for that matter. Most of the time I just remember that I read about it somewhere, and quickly read up again, barring a handful of topics (that have been hyperfixations in the past).
Possibly. No. Maybe. Yes. I can’t control what my brain retains (except in rare circumstances) and consequently it’s filled with a lot of useless bullshit that nobody cares about, bits and pieces of everything I ever read.
Had a phase where I read a bunch of Wiki articles about Marvel comics. This caused a few awkward moments where I’d throw in a random comment in a conversation I was overhearing but then wasn’t able to follow it up with anything substantial with my comic book expert interlocutors who’d actually read what they were talking about.
There’s a reason you don’t want to be on someone else’s team if we’re going to play trivia 😈I remember so much stuff, as long as it’s not math, I can’t do math.

No, you forget everything the next day.
it depends. I throw a D20 everytime i learn anything. On 13 or more, i memorize it for life. Else, i forgot it in 1d4 hours
Next day? Wow! Hey everyone, come look at this person with a functioning long-term memory!
Everyone’s different. I remember a lot, and so clean up on trivia night.
Even if you aren’t the type to remember, you’re still learning. The details aren’t always as important as the concepts.
I keep a summary. Not always complete, or exact, but the general idea.
Unless it is entirely useless IRL, such as nerd lore. Then i get to keep more info

Ha, I can’t even finish writing a comment before forgetting what I was…
Fuck, what was I going to say?
only when asked.
Yes, to our cost.
