I often muse about how can the vast majority of people have an above average IQ … according to them that is.

Selection bias. The nature of Reddit and its past as a liberal free speech zone lends (lended?) itself to particular traits. Reddit’s average user is some combination of the following:

      • male
      • in a STEM job or training/educated for STEM work
      • grew up middle-class
      • downwardly mobile
      • has ADHD or autism

Altogether this does actually mean IQ probably trends a bit higher on average. That doesn’t mean shit for the quality of your arguments if you don’t critically examine your beliefs though, and anyone spouting American media talking points is not examining anything.

(I didn’t mean Reddit, just overall people/the world. Tho not disagreeing directly, but the way you described the average Redditor might end up in their page/ads & marketing/shareholder meetings. Also not sure if any of the 5 points correlates highly with iq. Again, not disagreeing, & the last bit of your comment makes it perfectly clear you arent relating that to any sort of quality.)
