The outcry should be against policies that promote exploitation of workers, regardless of where they are from. That by itself would stop any excess immigration equitably, without dehumanizing anyone by going back on our word and treating them like garbage.
If they were treated humanely it would still be a shortage, you need to build homes FIRST and then increase immigration. Or else you hurt those without assets. Nobody is blaming immigrants themselves except your poor attempt at an ad hominen argument.
