Plus the air is filthy unless the Santa Anna winds are coming through. I’m only there a few days a month but I always get a headache after a day or two. Definitely a cool city though, no doubt. But it’s horribly laid out (mountains do that of course) and way too many cars.
It’s wild to think how much worse the air pollution situation used to be there, too, before emissions controls. Being sandwiched between westerly winds and mountains is not ideal for breathing.
