Testing out a new clue type here and curious the reception. They’d be rare, but are occassionally helpful in solving for a grid!

Instructions (best on desktop):

Solve the grid using the clues provided. The direction of the word is indicated by the number around the grid (so some words are backwards).

After you complete the grid, click the pencil icon tab at the bottom to switch over to solve the anagram. The title is a hint to the anagram!

      I often go for a loose pun for the title, but this time I tried more of a scattershot of association with >!the merry men: Maid Marian, Will Scarlet, Friar Tuck, Little John, and Much the Miller’s Son!< - hopefully not too left field!

        I think you need a newline for the spoiler to work?

        The clue was a unexpected and I personally didn’t get the connection and stumbled on the answer (8:00) . The crossword clues were fine, but the binary one I had to take with faith that you thought of the same substitution for 1 and 0.

        I think looser/non pun based clues are fine, this specific instance might have been iffy.
