    That’s part of the problem. They only heard what their news sources wanted them to hear and they never took it serious enough to look further into anything.

    They’re still partially to blame, but constant bombardment of right wing disinfo is a huge factor in all of this.

      Funny how only some people are affected by such a bombardment. Whatever could be the difference between the people who are so influenced and the people who are not?

          Conservatives in general are more susceptible to disinformation as they are in perpetual fear of outgroups and so have higher threat sensitivity. They are much more likely to believe content that is emotionally rather than factually driven.

          The only cure to that is education. Unfortunately, neoliberalism has concentrated wealth amongst a global elite that want to make sure they have an easily manipulatable population that will continue to vote against their own interests when a little fear mongering is dangled in front of their faces.
