Honestly, a (thin) majority of Texans who were born here or have lived here for more than a minute aren’t, either. It’s the recent Conservative transplants from rural California that have kept the Texas GOP in power.
On the bright side, some recent statistics indicate that those same Californians are now moving to Florida instead of Texas, so maybe Abbott and the rest won’t be able to rely on that bloc for much longer.
As a person who lives in Texas, I assure you that this isn’t solely a Texas thing, and I’m not a part of the fascist party.
