None of that is socialism. Please, for the love of all that is good, stop calling social programs socialism.

Socialism: when workers(prolatariat) control the means of production(owns and controls all that is needed to produce a widget). As opposed to what we have now: capitalists that control the means of production=capitalism.

I think you may have misunderstood what the joke is, saying the government should help people isn’t socialism, but it is called socialism by all those who just hate poor people…

Conservatives are like toddlers. Emotion driven to the point of having no mapping to reality, truth, and causality.

And even if it wasnt brown people, they’d find someone to hate on. Like how there was all this racism in the US against the Italians and Irish in the 1800s…

I have a tinfoil hat conspiracy theory that the Love is Blind/Married at First Sight shows are part of this. You’ve got a not so subtle focus on religion and marriage, a blind eye towards sexual assault, and Vanessa Lachey pestering past participants if they’re popping out a progeny anytime soon.

Funny thing about the onsite marriage thing, turns out it has been scientifically proven that marriage is not a cause of pregnancy / babies. Ick! Ack!

I miss the whimsical everyday relatable bits this strip used to be…it’s getting old with the non-stop political theme. Not that I don’t agree with the stance, but as a non-US internet user I just…don’t…fucking…care anymore.

They’re historically relatable because they’re based on author’s life. The author’s life currently happens to be living in a country where one constantly worries about these topics.

Sorry the US falling to fascism means you can’t enjoy certain comics any more. 😥

fwiw this is when you find out who’s on your side (i.e. who speak up during bad times) and who’s not (i.e. who ignore the situation or support the people in power.)

Oh please, as if it’s only the US having massive issues…They’re not, they’re just the most loud mouthed about it online and it gets tiring. There’s only so many fucks to give before fatigue sets in. While their situation is truly shit, it’s also by far not even close to the worst were dealing with at the moment. So yeah, I’m tapping out on the subject of US political drama for a while, that doesn’t mean I don’t sympathise with them.

That’s fine, but complaining that comic creators are making comics about topics important to them is silly. Ignore them and move on.

One thing that worries me is in the past europe, canada, australia, seemed to be on the forefront of societal improvements. Compared to the us they still are but its much more piecemeal and I feel we are leading the way in a contagious enshitification thing. I mean like didn’t the uk get rid of their post???
