Educational tear-downs are a great way to give an honorable death to a machine. I have a young relative who loves taking things apart. When they’re done, the parts go into a big bin for the annual trip to the recycling center.

They will find a scapegoat.
Or: memes and complaints.
Native Americans weren’t/aren’t some monolithic people. Back then they no doubt had a lot of different ideas on measuring a man’s worth.
This was mentioned a couple months ago. I checked it out yesterday at a friend’s house – the tone is kind of interesting, a lot different than the first preview (which was linked to back then) suggests.
The second preview (linked above) gives more of a feel of it. It’s in the “isekai” genre, meaning he’s in another world. Specifically, his fantasy world merged with a cyberpunk world in a way that is glossed over (those details are rarely important in the isekai genre.) so the main guy is presented as a “fish out of water” in a somewhat comedic way. Like the 2nd preview shows, the guy’s a demon lord, but he’s in a cyberpunk world, and to gain “followers” and thus gain power he becomes a streamer. Yeah, like a video game streamer. Anyway, it’s the sort of thing you have to be in the mood for. I only watched a couple episodes while gaming, specifically of the “dubbed” version.
Here’s a “recap” of the story of the first couple episodes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBG65MT33og You’ll note some shots reminiscent of Ghost in the Shell and Akira.
This movie also has an opening scene which involves them interviewing a member of Hezbollah. It’s not an action-based movie, but it has some very good acting and occasionally has outstanding dialogue.
Not only do those cats have the right to live free, they also have the right to live safe. In theory, if they are threatened by a foreign power, all of NATO would mobilize to protect those cats.
Isn’t there a WhatsApp download for a desktop app?
all I know about it is the following:
While the messaging platform already offers cross-platform support, users were able to add a new contact only via the primary Android phone or iOS handset—by adding a phone number or scanning a QR code. … In a press release, WhatsApp notes that users will soon be able to add and manage contacts through WhatsApp Web and also through Windows platforms or their preferred device, like Android tablets.

unclear if/how soon you’ll be able to use it without a phone number at all.
It was time. btw did we ever establish whether or not Garf has been neutered?
When you’re trying to merge but they won’t let you in: “Hey buddy! Give peas a chance!”
This lady needs to hook up with Charlie Kelly: King of the Rats.
The Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary is located in Temple D of the Largo di Torre Argentina. The cat shelter was founded in 1993 and offers sterilization and adoption programs that house an estimated 350 cats. The shelter operates as a no-kill shelter under Law no. 281, enacted by the Italian Parliament in 1991. These laws introduced: (i) the cats’ rights to live free and safe, (ii) institutionalization of cat caretakers. The shelter remains active, despite archaeologists’ protests to dismantle the shelter in favor of protecting the excavation.

Fun fact: the cat shelter is located in the ruins of where Julius Caesar was killed.
Awesome movie. Surprised I’d never heard of it before. Really gripping, up to the end, and a great soundtrack too. For the non-English language in the first 15 mins, you can turn on subtitles and also “translate to English” and the results are pretty good.
EDIT: Turns out it didn’t do so well* because it came out at the same time as the very first Star Wars! Talk about bad timing…
*also bc it has nothing to do with sorcery. and bc the first part of the movie has subtitles, and the studios didn’t really support the marketing…
I was gonna say Cosmic Slop, especially their Houston 1976 live version. But Maggot Brain is awsome too.
And it realizes the only creatures who can stop it are the cats.
Insane Clown Posse - “Chris Benoit” - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=574ULaCk4iE
Inspiration for the song came from wrestler Chris Benoit, who murdered his wife and son before committing suicide. Insane Clown Posse broadly alluded to the murders in the song’s lyrics, but the focus of the song is not the murders themselves, but of suddenly losing one’s sanity, and eclipsing in violence.[3] The song pertains to the album’s overall concept, which “teaches us to respect the life we’ve been given and do our best to avoid an early death.”
Yeah, that kid’s a stereotypical “tough girl” but she’s the real deal, she really enjoyed that fight, even if she got a black eye and Principal’s Office visit out of it. Too bad she’s not living nowadays, she’d probably be one hell of an MMA fighter.
A different person here. FWIW I sometimes get texts and email from a friend that are extremely long and detailed and I was like WTF, I woulda assumed he’s an AI if I didn’t know the guy in person. Then one day we were hanging and I saw him reply to a text, and turns out he was speaking his replies and using speech recognition.
True story: me and my BFF, both Americans, were in Rome on September 11, 2001. We later tried to figure out exactly where we were when the first plane hit, and as far as we could tell we were right around Castel Sant’Angelo, walking along the Tiber for a while before cutting over towards the Spanish Steps.
