Edit: I was going to take this down because it is indeed very black & white, and the real world doesn’t work that way. I feel like this is generating good discussion though.

Ehhh getting a little closer but not there yet. There are oppressors, and there is the oppressed.

If you really wanna cook, rephrase to:

There is no culture war. There is only a class war.

    Peace and War

    Ignorance and Strength

    Black and White

No middle, no sidelines, no nuance, only two sides on the battlefield, divided by no man’s land.

Yeah; this kind of thinking is what gets us into World Wars in the first place.

Exactly. This is such USian thinking. “There are two political parties. One is bad, one is good. Therefore everything in life is good or bad”. It’s so simplistic.

I don’t think that’s how most Americans view politics, currently. Democrats voters generally feel like they’re settling for “lesser of two evils”. Republican voters have an irrational love of Trump, but they hate most of their own representatives and even Trump is a way for conservatives to lash out against their own establishment.

Americans don’t like the establishment in politics, they don’t like the status quo, and they want to shake things up even if it’s stupid.

La derecha oprime y la izquierda libera. The right oppresses and the left liberates. (But it’s used as the equivalent of righty tighty, lefty loosey)

Go to America and you’ll immediatery get tyranny and freedom at the same time.

I mean, freedom isn’t the only way. Evem freedom can be a tyranny if it’s neo-liberalism

Freedom is just kind of a bad concept, because it becomes self-contradictory really quickly, as one person’s freedom may end where another’s begins.

IE Should tyrants have the freedom to be tyrants? Is it tyranny to forbid tyrants from being tyrants?
