Fertility rates are falling everywhere. The best explanation is that women don’t want to have so many children. But the looming economic challenges are enormous.

When the global population does decline sometime this century, it will be the first time since the Black Death, 700 years ago. But this time, it will be driven by human choice – specifically, the choice of women globally to not have so many children.

    It will be caused by capitalism. Climate change, environmental pollution, food and housing insecurity, our brains and balls being full of microplastics, and yes even women forgoing having children.

    All caused by capitalism. Every problem faced by humanity is caused by capitalism.
