the problem with your explanation is that it does not take into account disposable income and how it was spent in 1960 vs today.
no matter how much money is in the hands of the 1% in the 99% waste what they do have. no matter how much money the union gets it members is meaningless if the % cost of union dues have gone up, if people waste 60% of their disposable income on say “doordash” and not saving it for a house or paying for a house.

and yes i am mad that a generation that is willing to pay 10$ for delivery is crying becasue they cannot afford anything. the same generation that is having a lease on a $75000 car for 3 years, and they getting a new one. ( more money just GONE). or that unions have made higher education completely unaffordable for just about anyone.
