It’s funny, I was thinking the opposite. Lol. The design reminds me of the Dreamcast controller. I remember the first time I held a Dreamcast controller and how insanely comfortable it felt compared to NES, SNES, Genesis, N64 and Playstation. Granted, modern PlayStation and XBox controllers are also much more comfortable than all of those too, so the Dreamcast one might be uncomfortable by modern standards, but I don’t know since I haven’t held one in 25 years.
I’m hoping this new Steam Controller is as comfortable as I remember the Dreamcast controller being.
This is peak Internet. Thank you for sharing!

It almost certainly won’t work but I’d be curious if any test credit card numbers work for that purpose. They still pass the Luhn algorithm, but I’m guessing Google is still gonna reach out to some service to verify the CC details.

Yes! I am glad to see someone spreading this around again because this is possibly the greatest series of commercials ever produced. 100% perfect example of advertising done right!

Fun fact: that speech was a first draft. The writer made himself a note to revise it, but got busy enough with other stuff that he forgot. He remembered last minute when they were prepping to shoot the scene, but it was too late as Bill Pullman had already memorized it and had also spent time listening to unedited recordings of presidents giving big speeches throughout history to make sure it had the correct tone (this is also why he has the kind of awkward start).

A Perfect Circle - Thinking of You
Maynard has stated that song is about jerking off to the thought of having anal sex with someone.

Apologies, this is a rant. Please ignore if you are an em dash fan and know that I am not ranting at you, but at its creator.
As someone who has had to deal with comparing text output via automated tests, this thread hurts. I hate Em Dashes and whoever invented them with a burning passion. They make text comparison a nightmare.
“Let’s invent a character that looks exactly like a slightly longer hyphen, but isn’t!” Brilliant. Well done.
Why not just make the hyphen longer instead so people can just type it, like they do with every other character? Nope, instead, let’s invent a different character that can only be typed if you know the Unicode ID.
Even worse is the fact that there are also En Dashes. Because we definitely needed both and couldn’t just type multiple consecutive hyphens to make the line longer…
The worst part is that if you are writing physically, and you’re not a robot, there is no way to distinguish between these at all; they are all just hyphens.

If you want a wacky, unique rhythm game: Gitaroo Man
For the PS2 entry into one of the best shoot em up series of all time: Gradius V
For a fun, anime themed, voice acted tactical RPG that you can just literally play forever because it seemingly invented the “looping, start over but with better base stats” mechanic that idle games use these days: Disgaea
(As a bonus, the original PS2 version of Disgaea has a different voice for one of the characters than it does in other releases because they lost the rights or some thing like that, so you get to experience it in a slightly different manner than most other people.)
Annoyed by haircuts? Interesting. And the places you like often close? I’m very curious about this because I just go to super cuts or whatever but corporate chain and it’s always super relaxing to me. I get to tell them to do the same thing they always have done (since it’s saved in my profile based on phone number), then just sit, relax and close my eyes for like 15 minutes while someone cuts my hair for me and then leave looking better than when I arrived.
I only get my hair cut like 2 to 3 times a year. Basically when it starts getting in my eyes and becoming a nuisance. I rarely trim my facial hair too. Just once it starts becoming annoying to eat messier foods.
Yeah. What else would I do after work?
100% you should never run a computer without a cooler on the CPU. Even with a cooler CPUs can easily get over 60 degrees Celsius very quickly. Without a cooler it’s probably reaching unsafe temperatures (90+ degrees Celsius) almost immediately because it has nothing to dissipate the heat.
Please, leave it turned off until you get the cooler on there so you don’t damage your CPU. 😭
I am also using Voyager on my phone and because of how it loads pictures,I legitimately thought those were still two separate posts on my screen rather than one hmmmmm post about two posts being back to back. >_<

Glad to see someone else getting into Daggerfall!
For the way people react to you: That’s going to be based on your reputation with their faction that you set in character creation + your Personality stat. I just made a hoity-toity Paladin-eque character and I set his reputation with nobility really high and underworld really low, with commoners just a little bit low (-2)…Asking people in town for stuff results in a lot of turned up noses telling me to stuff it. Lol.
But also, for commoners, picking the Blunt option (your Streetwise skill) when speaking to them usually helps, and picking Polite (your Etiquette skill) usually makes them dislike you because it makes you talk like the upper class.
I spent hundreds of hours in the mid-to-late 90’s playing Daggerfall, which meant using it’s original control scheme; if you haven’t tried that out…you should, just so you know what it was like (but I recommend using the Normal setting for reflexes because you will not be able to attack/do stuff as quickly). Pro tip: In that control scheme, to look with the mouse, press Enter to enter Mouse Look mode. Press it again to go back to movement/interaction mode. The Home key centers your character’s view again, and Page Up/Page Down look up and down if you don’t want to switch out of interaction mode. Holding down the mouse button and literally moving it in a direction to determine the type of attack (side to side for swipes, forward for stab, backward for overhead swing/kick) was certainly unique, even for the time. WASD controls didn’t become standard until after Quake and Half Life exploded onto the scene.
I highly recommend the following mods which add great quality of life changes without changing fundamentals about the game or quests. If you don’t want to load your game down with a ton of mods, I urge you to at least grab the top two in my list as they modernize the game in the same way that Daggerfall Unity modernized the overall controls with a WASD + Mouse Look control scheme:

Yeah, here in the U.S. at Blockbuster you would get a clear plastic case that held the game cartridge and that was it. They must have still kept some of the original boxes in their storage though, because I bought a used copy of Mega Man X for SNES from Blockbuster and it came in it’s original box, but with no manual.

Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2.

KDE just works on my machine, which is lower specs than yours. I’ve never had it crash. I use Endeavor OS, so it came with it by default (which was part of the reason I chose it).
Edit: I don’t do much tweaking of the KDE settings other than the main color scheme. I also have never had an issue with waking from sleep on Endeavor (but I recall in years past that was an issue with most distros I tried and unrelated to KDE since I was less a fan of its style back then and didn’t use KDE). My set up is a normal desktop PC that I use daily for everything, including gaming.
Velocipastor is so much better than it has any right to be.
Helen Keller vs. Night Wolves has the most hilarious opening song and is the very definition of a B movie.
Super Hybrid is another B movie that has no right to be as good as it is. Highly recommend.
As mentioned in some other comments Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead is an absolutely ridiculous romp from Troma.
Endtroducing by DJ Shadow
It’s his inaugural album and there’s never been anything quite like it. Even his follow up albums, with his unique sound, feel a bit different than this one (not in a bad way, but I don’t think they meet your unicorn criteria).
Also, I think this easily goes in my top ten albums list.
