  • Real talk.

I have been around long enough to know that this conversation has happened ever since Windows 7.

And each time and every time an OS EOL I spend time investigating a couple of Linux distros to try that switch.

This time is no different. From Redhat to Debian to Ubuntu to popOS to Mint. Each one is significantly better than the last.

But even 2024, I’m having to spend time inside the terminal to make the OS act more like Windows.

Tailscale has no native app. Gotta install it in the terminal. I want to use my touch screen in the browser to swipe the back button. Nope, I spent 2 hours on forums and ChatGPT and had to install something in the terminal. I was not successful. My Nvidia video card is not working properly. I gave up after.

Why am I spending hours trying to make my experience like Windows when Windows is right there. Sure sure, privacy and advertising yada yada. Install Adguard and disable services that you don’t agree with.

Oh man. Mine actually is able to listen and understand each conversation. My brain will not only listen but mentally join that conversation. Lord help me if a few people in earshot are having technical problems with their phones or computers. I will literally pull my phone out in the middle of dinner with a friend and start finding the solution for multiple people’s problems while my friend is like WTF, you were just telling me about your day and abruptly stopped talking and went into your phone.

It’s an ability if you’re a prehistoric hunter or in a dense jungle with predators. We have the ability to listen to everything and be able to process sounds, smell and visual changes.

Having dinner with a date and it’s less of an “ability” and more of “you’re being an unattentive asshole” because your date is just another conversation in a sea of conversations.

My friends and I dropped ADHD meds at an outdoor concert. They were having fun and having a good time and I sat down in the grass and replied to some school emails and did a handful of tasks that I have been putting off.

It was the first time in my life that I wasn’t unintentionally listening to everyone’s conversations at the exact same time and solutioning their problems all at the same time.

I ended up going to Mexico and going into a reputable doctor and purchased ADHD meds. I later in life went to a doctor and got diagnosed.

Atoxetmine gave me wicked mood swings on the come down. And also, sexually, when I came, it would feel muted. Like felt like a 1/2 cum.

This made my relationship with my wife waaaaay worse.

Ritalin is the only ADHD med that Taiwan has access to. The come down is less intense.

  • I don’t need anything. Nobody needs anything except for water, food and shelter. But hear me out.

My last vehicle was purchased in 1999. It is a small 2 seater coupe with 2 tiny tiny seats in the back. I have replaced the engine 2 times and transmission once. Parts are now getting hard to come by and my family needs are growing. We like camping and each time we rent a vehicle. We are constantly trying to figure out how to move our things in my tiny car. It’s a chore to drive a small car with a family.

It’s 24 years and I feel like I have already done my part in reducing my carbon footprint.

So when looking for my next vehicle, I wanted a bigger vehicle to go camping and carry equipment to my kids practice.

I want reverse charging for my home, so my options are limited. Ford F150 and Cybertruck. Another selling point for the Cybertruck is that it’s bulletproof against handguns. That’s kinda nice knowing that if someone started shooting into my vehicle, we might survive.
