For me the 365 suite (including copilot) all works great inside Firefox on Mint. But I work in software so the other everyday stuff is pretty well available.
I assume some day I’ll need to boot back into windows for something, but it’s already Ben months.
Of course there are, because mining and construction are powered by the old stuff. That doesn’t seem like a compelling downside to building things that generate clean power, since that’s a downside to building literally anything.
At first I wanted to reply about how one can HOPE that capitalism’s never ending extraction of value from labor might build a better future and enable more happiness.
But there’s a deeper assumption in that statement, and in my limited personal experience it affects conservatives the most. That is thinking that happiness is caused by external factors: money, toys, status, power, etc.
How wonderful would it be if the ultimate effect of the AI fad was to use the tech industry’s billions to install tons of carbon free power generation?

I’m using Linux mint all day at work, while I have a couple of rarely-used Windows machines at home. I think the swap to Linux on those home machines is going to be a winter project this year.
It might be more accurate to say the project will be setting up the Linux version of a few key pieces of software. The actual installation of Linux Mint is the easiest part!
I’m not sure there’s a good way to know without trying. I never even tried a short beard because it never looked right until I got past the “long enough to look good” threshold.
But that doesn’t mean never trimming a single hair, or anything extreme like that. I don’t like mine to grow out to the sides, so I’ve kept the sides trimmed.
I kept my face shaved until my 40s because my facial hair always seemed sparse and thin.
But then a few years ago I just let it go for a while, and now I have this big thick beard that is never going anywhere. Wavy hair plus length suddenly looks full!

I really love your types of games. I admit I haven’t played through all of the most recent ones, but I’ve structured my PC builds around the Elder Scrolls series since Morrowind. I took 100 hours to play through Skyrim, then I took 200 hours to play through Skyrim VR. And you can tell business daddy that I even used a WMR headset to do it.

But we should all be clear with each other that to suggest it is “perfectly tuned” in any meaningful way makes you sound like you’ve lost touch with reality. I get that the dev tools and your process may be nice behind the scenes, but from the consumer side, damn no.

Given the up-front cost of any kind of reactor, I don’t think the concept of a usage-based electric bill goes away as long as it’s corporations competing for customers. Maybe eventually it would be like ISPs where it’s a flat fee depending on the size of your connection. I guess it could be totally unmetered then.
Like so many things, it gets a lot simpler if it’s the government supplying the service.

I had flood insurance for a long time, in a non-flood zone. It was cheap and it made sense since storm water sometimes runs across my back yard.
Until one day I thought we got close to needing to use it. I spoke to somebody at the insurance company and got to know my policy on my own a bit.
It doesn’t matter how bad my house might flood. A flood claim would not matter unless either a 2 acre area flooded or a neighbor’s house had a nice flood claim too.
Lot of fucking good that does for somebody with a small yard who lives on a hill! I actually got rid of the policy years ago.
It seems pretty consistent that any time I hear somebody mention Sharia Law, I am in for some horrible takes.
