This is the reason for his pathetic hatred of academics. His university professors rightly saw a useless dweeb with an outrageous sense of self regard.

1·23 days agoOkay, explain to me what the standard deviation of time is. I will pre-empt nonsense, just “time”, not just time in reference to the duration of a finite process. It must be abstract and universal, like the position-momentum case.
Untestable universes is not a rejoinder to “stop thinking” it’s just another way to achieve it

I literally had an Israel defender on reddit agree that black people under apartheid should have accepted it for “peace”. I live in south Africa, fuck Nazis, even the Jewish ones.
Irony: Jewish people in SA were a big part of anti-apartheid efforts; all the while Israel was apartheid’s biggest mate (after Thatcher and Reagan got cold feet of course, don’t feel too righteous in the anglosphere).
The “solutions” are not out of reach. Just do the experiment more than once, like any statistical theory.

The reply to the energy problem is hilarious. These universes that differ by a single quantum event have radically different energy totals. Science!
Great answer, but it unfortunately is taken seriously. The reason is because it is an “end of the road” hypothesis. It tells you all the weirdness is fundamental and no further thought is required. Just like good old Copenhagen. The unfalsifiability is a virtue here, it’s a complete explanatin without the messy testing. Now stop thinking, shut up, and calculate.
The problem is that education is now a means to get a certificate of good job potential. As long as that is true, LLMs will be a problem. If all that matters is the metric (marks or getting the degree) then it’s rational to use a tool that can achieve a good metric score with little effort from you.
Like so many other things, education has been commodified. All that matters is some quantifying metric, not whether stuff was actually learned. Just like what’s being done to academia, citations are all that matters. Not what you did or how good it was. The metric that was meant to help you assess good work, without reading it yourself, has itself become what it means to do good work. This kind of environment incentivises cheating to a massive degree.
