Whenever I’m speaking with others about politics I’m reminded how fucking dumb half our populace is. It’s not even something from the past 100 years, even during the Roman times populism was a thing.
If anything you’d think that with our current educational system people would be smarter but sadly the opposite is true.
Peoe vote for parties just because they hate foreigners here. Sometimes I ask them, “did you know they wanted to increase taxes on X and decrease taxes for the rich”? And then you get all sorts of insults slinged at you. Blue collar workers with minimum wage calling me a “leftie” because I care about wanting decent health care and social wellbeing. People with minimum wage voting for parties that want to create more hardship for them and increase wellbeing and power for billionaires.
Mind you, I’m not even from the US, populism and fascism is a problem everywhere. You’d think people would have learned something from 1939 - 1945. You’d think we’d cooperate for the wellbeing as a species and try to explore things to make our life on earth better (or even trying to reach into space).
But nope here we are, hating on minorities. Helping billionaires getting more power. Destroying the wellbeing we have enjoyed for a couple of decades.
You’d think people would want something different like a non proprietary OS that spies on your every daily aspect of your life seeing the recent tensions in the word.

As someone from the EU. I think the US is truly fucked. Every single government organ is focusing on removing any USA dependency going from big tech to parts and resources etc. And we’re not the only country doing it. The military has already decided to buy 0 new USA equipment.

I’ve decided I’m not using websites that block mullvad anymore. I’m talking about a hard block like reddit does and not a captcha (captcha is fine by me).
If they’re doing that much trouble to prevent me from using a VPN they must me doing some pretty shady shit with my data.
I will not move to another VPN because of all VPNs I feel Mullvad respects my privacy most.
