If you’re looking for hundreds of microcommunities, lots of activity by the hour from anyone or anything .etc then Lemmy is not going to do it for you. We’re a year in and Lemmy’s userbase is basically a piss of a squirt to Reddit’s volume. And that could get at you if you’re someone that just needs something to read or want some interactivity whereas Lemmy is just more of a stop and then go kind of approach.

Someone talked to me about the Egg Theory and while I have a bit of skepticism towards it, I do understand a plausibility about it.

It makes me wonder, just what are the rich old geezer and young rich hustlers going to do when the planet becomes uninhabitable due to this? Go to space? There’s no where to go and our technology is only good enough to get to the Moon and Mars. But there’s no where to really live that’s like Earth and the exoplanets we discovered, are beyond our reach.

Dude, the fact that the student has to use AI tools to get by, does not mean he’s going to be a success story in life. It just means he’s going to find shortcuts and exploits to make things easier over everyone else that had to do things the natural way. This is no different than someone using calculators in math tests where it’s not allowed. This is no different than someone simply peeking over another’s work and copying down. Using AI generative tools to gain an advantage is in the same ballpark.
So these entitled parents and that entitled student can go get fucked. I hope these universities see this and recognize that this student is a borderline cheater and hopefully deny him anyways if this gets overturned.
Sometimes yes, I just do the minimal required that shows I care. But I often times do not care because I don’t need the subtle reminder that their lives are going along better than mine. My life is in micromanagement hell, where I’m just biding time until I die pretty much. I barely enjoy things and whatnot. So if I were to fully celebrate milestones friends are celebrating to me it’d be like a knock against my own life.
So I don’t but I also don’t make it known to them out of respect. If they had to ask for the honest truth about how much I care, then it’s on them for asking because I’d give them that truth.
