Anywhere on the Internet has a degree of hate speech, threats, and harassment. The downvote system does an okay job of filtering these out, but mods are necessary.

I know I would be decimated if I had to comb through hateful posts and comments every day. It’s not an enticing position, especially for no pay.

It’s a shame that it’s a fine line to walk between a healthy community and having maximum free speech. Give credit to the creators, they put in a lot of work and had a good vision. The Internet is just unruly and hard…

Can’t see them on Lemmy Connect either. I like having this platform be as distanced from social media attributes as possible. Like other users have said, every extra bit of anonymity is a boon.
